Bruxism
[teeth grinding]

Reducing your ability to grind your teeth while you sleep.

Bruxism is the term given to teeth grinding. It can be very distressing for patients. It causes wear of teeth and headaches. Patients often complain of a morning headache because they have been tensing and grinding the teeth at night.

We offer consultations on reducing the strength of the bite muscle, also known as the masseter muscle. This reduces the ability to grind the back teeth at night which can reduce the symptoms of tooth wear, jaw ache and headache that patients can experience as a result of grinding.

Occasionally the cycle of bruxism can be broken after a few treatments and ongoing treatment isn't always necessary.
